Coach Fred Crowell

Crowell's Pure Shooting System

Coach Crowell became the youngest Division 1 coach in America at the age of 23 taking over the position at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He transitioned from there to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and eventually was selected as the first head coach for Athletes in Action. In 1971, Crowell began Northwest Basketball Camps (now NBC Camps, one of the largest overnight basketball camps in the world), and has helped thousands of athletes and coaches along the way. He developed Crowell's Pure Shooting System and ball to help players better understand the intricacies of shooting and what it takes to become a great one. Crowell remains involved with NBC Camps today.
